Corporate Governance Directives for Shareholding Listed Companies for the Year 2017
The Board of Commissioners of the Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) approved Corporate Governance Directives for Shareholding Listed Companies for the Year 2017, which came into force on 22/05/2017. These Directives replace the Corporate Governance guide for Shareholding Listed Companies on the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) issued by the JSC in 2009. These Directives apply to companies listed on the ASE.
The circular issued by the JSC in this regard stipulates that in case of any conflict between these Directives and any legislation issued by the Central Bank of Jordan or the Insurance Directorate in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, companies subject to the supervision of these two authorities must inform the JSC of this and provide clarification on this conflict to take the appropriate decision.
