The Amman Stock Exchange participates with a number of global exchanges in the events of the World Investor Week 2026
Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) participated for the seventh consecutive year, alongside several global stock exchanges in the "Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy" initiative and the activities of the World Investor Week, held during the first week of October every year. This participation comes as part of the annual initiative organized by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).
The CEO of the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE), Mr. Mazen Wathaifi, said that the ASE’s participation in the activities of World Investor Week, alongside global financial markets, reflects its commitment to strengthening its active engagement in the initiatives and activities organized by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), and their committees. He noted that such participation contributes to keeping informed of international developments and practices, as well as staying informed of the latest developments in investor protection and financial market development.
He added that the ASE’s participation in this campaign reflects its continued commitment to promoting financial literacy and enhancing investment awareness among all segments of society. This commitment stems from the importance of equipping investors with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed and well-considered investment decisions, while strengthening their ability to navigate the challenges and risks facing financial markets amid rapid digital transformation.
Wathaifi noted that this year’s campaign focuses on three key themes: strengthening investor resilience and their ability to navigate challenges; raising awareness of the risks of digital misinformation; and warning against investment fraud and scams. These themes are becoming increasingly important among rapid technological advances and the growing use of digital platforms for investment activities.
The campaign is being supported by stock exchanges and financial markets around the world through a range of activities, by organizing bell-ringing ceremonies, workshops, and various events, contributing to the development of more informed, inclusive, and sustainable financial markets.
Wathaifi pointed out that throughout the week, the ASE will publish a range of educational materials on its website and social media platforms, targeting various categories of investors. The aim is to enhance investment awareness and promote responsible and secure investment practices by encouraging investors to make informed decisions based on reliable information and independent analysis, use technology responsibly, and avoid emotional decision-making or acting on rumors. They will also highlight the importance of safeguarding personal and financial information against fraud.
In this context, Wathaifi noted that the ASE’s participation in the initiative comes coincidence as the exchange celebrates a notable achievement: being named the Best-Performing Arab Stock Exchange in terms of price index growth in the Arab Federation of Capital Markets’ (AFCM) 2025 Award. He said the award reflects the ASE’s strong performance and reinforces its position among the leading financial markets in the Arab region.
It is worth mentioning that "World Investor Week" is an annual international awareness initiative organized in the first week of October of each year by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) aiming to enhance financial culture and raise awareness for investors on all matters related to investment in securities and the capital market. More than 120 members of this international organization participate in its annual activities.
